This pegum, or low reading table, is an outstanding example of Tibetan hand painted furniture and very likely, once belonged to a high lama. Artfully executed with intricate gold lattice work, the six panels on the front of this table and the two on either side are decorated with artfully executed images of guruda, tiger, snow lion, snow leopards and dragons.
