#41 Tibetan Cabinet 19th Century
Dragons and six panel dragon cabinets were very popular in 19th century Tibetan society. Dragons projected power and majesty and served as protective guardians for the family home. In this taller cabinet (one of a pair See # 27) some of the medallions have been decorated with green dragons on a red background and some have red dragons on a green background and ample gilt. The gesso work is well executed, and the lines are delicate but in slight relief. For shipping and handling please contact info@innerasiarugs.com
