# 13 Hand Painted Chest
This 16th-17th century chest is one of the oldest in the collection. Perhaps because of its relatively smaller size, it is in excellent condition. In the center medallion, a flaming jewel sits atop a lotus blossom surrounded by swirling leaves. The deep red of the simple background is further decorated in the corners with swirling cloud like lines in gold, outlined in green. The most striking decorative feature is the elaborate metal work of the many metal fittings and clasp. These simple but decorative hand forged and cut metal pieces provide an excellent of Tibetan metal craft of this period. For shipping and handling please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
